For two decades, BIAFF has brought independent and art-house cinema to Batumi, creating a meeting point for filmmakers, audiences, critics and cinema lovers from Georgia and beyond.
In 2026, the festival reaches a special milestone: its 20th edition. What began in 2006 has grown into one of the city's recurring cultural events, continuing to place auteur cinema and new voices at the centre of its program.

This September, Batumi once again becomes a meeting place for cinema.
From 19 to 26 September, BIAFF 2026 will bring films, filmmakers, cinema professionals and a diverse program of festival events to the city.
The festival experience goes beyond the stories unfolding on screen. Audiences and young filmmakers will have the opportunity to take part in masterclasses and workshops, gain new knowledge and exchange experiences with industry professionals. Set against Batumi’s seaside landscape and distinctive atmosphere, all of this becomes part of a unique festival experience.
