Synopsis

A lazy bureaucrat loses his job and discovers that finding another position depends not on ability but on obtaining the support of an influential patron — a so-called “grandmother.” Using grotesque humour, expressionist design, and inventive visual language, the film offers a biting satire of bureaucracy, favouritism, and the absurdities of the Soviet administrative system.
