THOSE WHO WHISTLE AFTER DARK

Synopsis

Recently retired from his job at the Natural History Museum, Melih struggles to adjust to a life without work while grieving the death of his sister. His wife Suzan, an ambitious nurse frustrated by the direction her life has taken, has become the victim of a scam she is afraid to reveal. Their unemployed daughter Toprak, an aspiring writer and video-game addict, dreams of escaping an increasingly uncertain future. When Melih experiences a strange supernatural encounter, his quiet depression develops into an existential crisis. Soon the entire family is confronted by the ghosts of abandoned ambitions, forgotten possibilities, and lives they might have lived, in an absurd and darkly humorous portrait of family disappointment and hope.
