Synopsis
After the death of their mother, two underage brothers secretly take responsibility for their father, who suffers from frontotemporal dementia. Afraid that the truth will separate the family, they hide his condition from the outside world while managing the household themselves. Forced into adulthood long before they are ready, the brothers struggle to preserve both their home and their bond with one another.

Jan Saczek
Jan Saczek is a Polish director and screenwriter. He graduated in Film and Audiovisual Culture from the University of Gdańsk and continued his directing studies at the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School at the University of Silesia in Katowice. His short films include The Groom, Nurt, and Children’s Day. Dad’s Not Home received recognition at the Student Academy Awards, confirming Saczek as one of the emerging voices of contemporary Polish short cinema.
